Been to busy sewing to post

I just looked at the last time I posted and I realised it has been a while so here is a bit of a catch up of what I have been doing
I have finished this hat and almost finished 2 more of these
I have also started making some mittens to go with them.
I made some petit four baskets
Then I machine sewed a binding on one of the quilts I needed to bind
(I will post a picture when I have finished the hand sewing)

Then while I had the right colour thread on the machine I finished off this quilt top. It is at the quilters now waiting to be quilted.
Today I had some fun doing some scrap busting on this table runner
and having a go at the first block of the Free Motion Quilting Project by Leah Day.
(I'm hoping that if I do a block everyday my stitches will become a bit more even than they are now!)
I just signed up for Friday Night Sew In too are you going to join us?

FNwF

I'm glad I had some sewing time with my Friday Night friends out there! I managed to complete my main goal for OMG last night. Monday this top will be off to the quilters :0)
I might just get my other projects done this month too...if I don't get distracted by other things again!

Like this
Master Eight had offered to make his friend a pencil case and when he found out his young friend liked dinosaurs Master Eight wanted to make a dinosaur pencil case. Of course I could not find a pattern for one so we had to do some creative thinking. Master Eight picked out the colours and I found a toy pattern by Melly & Me that would be easy enough to modify to make a pencil case. At this stage Master Eight decided to delegate the sewing to me so I spent the day putting him together. I decided to give him a layer of wadding to give it a bit more sturdiness and lined him too.

I hope Master Eight's little friend likes him!

May OMG

My goal for this month is to take the thin black border off this add some other borders and get it to the quilters.
If I get that done I will bind these two quilts which are now quilted

Then I will work on this top which I still need to finish
I wonder what the other creative people are up to this month? I better pop over to Elm Street Quilts and check it out! Then I will head over to FNwF to sign up to help me get started with these goals!

Awesome Progress

My friend Tracie wanted to learn to crochet and she asked me if I could help her, so we started with a few stitches and she had a go at doing some granny squares. Over the weekend she came over again as she was having little bit of trouble with them. Together we figured out the problem and she set to work again. Tonight I got this photo from her showing me her progress
I am soo excited for her as I know she has been keen to learn to crochet. Great work Tracie Keep it up and you will have a blanket in no time! I better start on another of those project bags ...Tracie will need one soon!

New Project Bag

I had been keeping my crochet stuff in this little basket

But it is starting to overflow now so I decided to make myself a new project bag The pattern was from Whistlepig Creek Productions

.
It has pockets on the outside

And on the inside

I chose to put the optional Drawstring flap on it so if it  ends up with more stuff in it I will have plenty of room!

It also has the advantage of keeping the stuff inside away from prying eyes! LOL

The Beginning of a new project

So it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything but I thought I would pop in and show you my latest project. It’s a cute little dachshund b...
