Progress on a UFO

Today I worked on one of my UFO's hopefully it will not take too much longer to finish, although it is amazing just how many hours of work can go into something this small!

Six Months of Softies

I signed up for this yesterday and couldn't wait for the pattern for the first one to arrive, so I was very excited to find it in my inbox. I got straight to it and found it very easy to make and the instructions were very clear with bonus video tutorials to help if you were having difficulties. I am so glad I signed up for this sew along. Thanks Wendi for the great patterns and clear instructions!

To anyone thinking of signing up I say DO IT I'm sure you won't regret it making these two was so much fun!

Another block finished

I finished the block I was working on for my secret project today. Six more to go then I can start putting it together! I had a lovely morning at Marci's Quilting Service sewing and chatting. I got most of the block done while I was there and came home with a new project to work on too.

Just signed up for the Six Months of Softies

I can't wait. I absolutely love the Funky Friends Factory patterns by Pauline McArthur they are just wonderful, and her after sales service is great too, so if she is involved I bet the other five designers will be wonderful too!

Getting there

More work on my secret project today. I'm nearly to the point where I can see the end of the project in sight, which will help keep me  motivated!

Fun Froggie

Today I had fun creating a wonderful little frog from this book from Melly and Me

He was really easy to make and I have a special recipient in mind for it but I have to make a few more things before I can hand it over.

I think I may have put his face area on the wrong way, but at the time I was sure I had it the right way round ohh well! He is a long faced frog now! I also think I would have found it easier to put the eyes on before stuffing him but then they might have ended up in the wrong position too!

I'll have shorts this colour please!

Now he is all ready to hit the beach!

I loved how easy this pattern was to follow and by photocopying the pages I could tick off each step as I had done it (ensuring I didn't get lost if I was interrupted, which happens quite frequently around here!) with out ruining the lovely book! I love the pictures and hints and tips in the book, it just made making the frog so simple.

A new block started

Today is W.I.P. Wednesday so I had to get to work on another block for my secret project. I have to say I am very happy with this one and can't wait to get it finished! I am hoping that the recipient will really love it when it is finished!

I have also been inspired by some of the blogs I have been reading so I am going to dig out my UFO's tomorrow and add a list of them to work on during the rest of the year. Hopefully making this list will keep me working on them. (I might add a list of NEWfo's too, of all those things I want to do!)

Another block finished!

Today I was looking forward to spending alot of time sewing, unfortunately that didn't happen. :(

I was happy though, to get another block finished for my secret project. I'm on the downhill run now, but I really need to concentrate on getting it done sooner rather than later. So it looks like there will be a few more of these cryptic photos just showing part of the blocks.

Finishing Touches

Today's crafting was putting some of the finishing touches on a quilt that has been unfinished for way too long. I had it quilted by the wonderful ladies at Marci's Quilting Service. I need to get some beads that are the right size to completely finish it off though.

The Quilt in progress

Added hair to the angel

Added nose and mouth today need to get some beads for the eyes.

Some of the quilting detail

More of the quilting detail, it really goes well with the theme of the quilt. Marci and Judy do a wonderful job on the quilts.

This quilt was made many, many years ago when I was attending a quilting group in my hometown. It was part of a round robin we did. We handed some of our fabric along with a block and each person added a little of their own touch to it by making a block using the fabric, some added some of their own  fabrics too which really made it interesting.

Ok now a challenge for my quilting/crafty friends! Pull out one of those projects that has been sitting unfinished for way too long and do some work on it. Let's see what we can get done before the end of the month.

More Progress

I have started work on a new block for my secret project.

It kind of helped me get over the frustration of yesterday. I was going to work on a bag which I thought was a fair size, but when I got the pattern I discovered it was much smaller than I expected. I was just going to make it deeper until I realised some of the length of it was used up to create the width so now I will have to adjust all the measurements to get it to the size I want it.

Progress Made

I finally finished the block I was working on for my secret project.

This is what the frog looks like now!

Eight more appliqués to do then I can put the top together!

I have still been working on getting those bags of fabric sorted out and onto the shelves. I didn't realise just how much was in those bags!

Busy Few Days

I haven't posted for a few days but I have still been busy. Saturday and Sunday was spent putting the binding on a quilt for a friend. I am not posting a picture as it was not a quilt I made.  Monday and Tuesday was spent turning this

I still have more fabric to fold and put on the shelves but it is much neater.
