Another Block Done

I managed to complete another block today.  I couldn't help but think about the movie "Flight of the Navigator" whilst I was stitching the aliens' eyes, it was one of those movies I thought was great when I was younger. Have you ever had random things from the past come into your head while you are stitching?
I now have only one of the prepared blocks left to complete before I start on the last four blocks. I am hoping that I will get it to flimsy stage by the end of the month. I probably won't get much stitching done tomorrow but if I do it will probably be January's clue to the Meadow Mystery Quilt.

Slow Progress

Today was a busy day out and about with the family so I only got a little bit done on my blocks today.
I went back and finished the block from yesterday and I am so glad I did.
It looks so much better with those last little touches I forgot yesterday.
I also finished this block off.
Any progress is better than no progress!
P.S I've just discovered the OMG  at Elm Street Quilts so I have decided to join and this will be my first project. My goal is to get the blocks all completed. If I get that done before the end of the month I will attempt to get it to the flimsy stage where it can be sent off to the quilters. Wish me luck and have you joined yet?

No Finish Today, But There Was Some Progress

Today I did pull out the Hello Moon quilt to do some work on. I thought I had finished the appliqué on this block
until I pulled out the pattern to look at the next block (below) and I realised I hadn't done the line to give the cheese a more 3D effect and the mouse whiskers! I had already started on this block by then.

As I still had some grey thread left on my needle after doing the moon I also started this block to save having to rethread my needle with that same thread again later.

So I have started on three of the four blocks I had preprepared so hopefully they won't take too long and then I will be able to start on the last four blocks. Then I will have to figure out how to set them. Any Ideas?

On A Roll

So I went looking for Hello Moon and came across the Dala Horse in the process. Since it felt so good to get a finish under my belt and there wasn't much left to do on this I decided I would finish it off too. So here is what I started with

And now this is what I have.

First completed project for the year!

Yay I finished my little project from yesterday, it feels great to have finished something so early in the year. I hope this progress keeps up I might actually use some of my stash at this rate!

This cute robot was from Anni Downs "A Boys Story" book.
He was quick and fun to make!

On another good note I checked my hard drive to see if I had saved the rest of the patterns for Hello Moon and they were there! (Doing a little happy dance!) I really loved this quilt but fell behind so now I know I will be able to finish it. Might actually pull it out next! This is where I am currently up to with it.
I have four blocks here preped to sew and four more blocks I need to make giving me a total of 12 blocks for the quilt.

Happy New Year!

I hope 2017 is an amazing year for everyone!

My 2017 has started off very well with me nearly finishing one of my UFO projects today. Pretty sure I will be marking him off the list tomorrow! Here is a photo of where he is at today.

Only his arms, legs and neck left to sew and then I can put him all together.
One project will be finished then!
Yay!

It has been a while

Today I am recommitting to doing some sort of crafting each and everyday, even if it is just 15 minutes. the last few weeks I have been sewing again and really enjoying it and I think it is helping me to head in the direction I want to go in instead of just floating aimlessly in life as I have been for the past year or so. I have also learnt to crochet with the help of some friends and the internet video tutorials. So here are some photos of things I have been working on

This was finished and given to a new baby

These were my first attempts at crochet.
I then attempted a toy
This is the beginning square of a blanket I am working on

These 3 were Christmas gifts for a baby.

Linking up with all the other wonderful people over at FNSI at Sugarlane Designs,

Some Progress on a UFO

Finally starting to see some progress with one of my UFOs.  I can't even remember when I started this one so I will probably start a new page for any that weren't documented on my 2013 UFO page. Hopefully since I have only left a few projects out I might be a bit better at getting them finished ;0)

This is one of the hexagon sides to Anni Downs from Hatched and Patched  Home Sewn Sampler Bag. I know I started it with a couple of friends when we were doing some social sewing, life changed and I never got mine finished but after seeing one of the others finished bag, I was inspired to get to work on mine. Maybe I can get this side finished tomorrow!

It's Been a Long Time

I haven't been doing much lately but I am starting to feel the need to do creative work again now. I just signed up for the Meadow Mystery Quiltalong and I still have some UFO's I'm working on so that should keep me busy for a while. Anyone want to join me?

The Beginning of a new project

So it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything but I thought I would pop in and show you my latest project. It’s a cute little dachshund b...
